Welcome to my website!

Hi all! Thankyou for your first visit to my website, and blog.

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my story. I'm Emma; I operate in a 5* FSA rated home kitchen in New Ash Green, where I reside with my husband (the muffin man). Let me tell you - when I first started this journey - I had no idea we were coming this far. I had a full time job (and still do; actually), no professional training or caking experience, a complete lack of knowledge about where or how to begin - but a head FULL of ideas.

I was sitting in a bar with my friends back in 2018 (I love a cocktail. Anyone who knows me knows I'll be at the cocktail bar; I'm not the pub type) and I was hungry! I started to think to myself... What if these cocktails were edible!? I also love cake - in particular, vanilla madeira sponge with a layer of cream and jam...

So, I thought - why not both!? And BoozyBakerUK was born. We have since changed the name; but more about that later. I started creating a portfolio and used every opportunity (birthdays, gifts, more birthdays, other events) to test out my ideas. It took me approximately one year until I felt I was ready to take on the Great British Public (did I also mention I'm a perfectionist?) and I did my first event around November 2019 at Reynolds Spa, for a Christmas market. I then attended various other fayres and fetes; and the biggest changes came when I was added to Gravesend Borough Market as a Saturday trader, in February 2020. I've met so many people through this opportunity; business owners and customers alike and I will be forever grateful for this opportunity. I still have a regular pitch here and you can find me there trading every Saturday, 10am-2pm.

From the bottom of my heart; I want to say a massive thankyou to everyone who has followed and supported me on this journey (which I'm still only just beginning!). For every review, for every referral, for every like/share/comment on social media, for everyone who has ordered off me for themselves, for those who have ordered as gifts to others; for everyone viewing my content, for reading this blog - without you, I wouldn't be able to achieve this dream of mine. Thankyou, it means the world.

The Tipsy Baker x
